Now wide areas surrounding Australia's favourite Island are at risk from unconventional gasfield exploration licenses.
The area's population growth has exceeded the state average over the past 20 years, and it is forecast to grow to more than 430,000 by 2031.
We need to stop gasfields risking our land and water before it's too late!

Our Wide Bay, Burnett region is a valuable food bowl full of vibrant farming communities. We are known for our rich soils, food crops and as an international tourism destination. Home of the Great Sandy Straits, Mon Repos and Southern Great Barrier Reef, ours is an internationally significant environment worth protecting.
Blue Energy's shale gas exploration permits (ATP's 613P, 733P and 674P) come up for renewal in December 2018 and March 2019.
We call on you to protect the Wide Bay Burnett region from unconventional gasfields and fracking by not renewing those permits and instead ensuring they are extinguished.
