I enjoyed your direct and well-delivered speech. Your longterm commitment to such a serious cause does deserve recognition.

I want to personally congratulate you on this much deserved award.
Its people like you that keep this country safe from the what I call the brutality of mining.
In Queensland I believe we have an estimated 50,000 mines that have been walked away from and have never been re vegetated.
So again thank you for your courage and determination in standing up to these ruthless multinationals.

A: Wendy, we first met when you came over to Stroud to help the campaign against the Stratford and Duralie mines ten years ago. We (the newly formed Barrington Gloucester Stroud Alliance) didn’t know much about it but you were there to teach us the basics. Now we are called Groundswell Gloucester, and having seen off AGL we are fighting a proposed mine at Rocky Hill next to Gloucester.

I point you out to my daughters as a real hero to be emulated rather than our present sorry leaders. May you live to 100 and may we all see the end of thermal coal and all mines that put profits before communities and health!

Thank you for what yo have done. It is soooo good that you showed who the David and the who Goliath is. The thing is that the mega corporations all have the belief that they are the Goliath and can put through any trial they choose with impunity ‘knowing’ that they will win whatever happens. Yet, a stone from your sling dismantled their evil intentions and plans. (I am sre it took a lot more than swinging and releasing a stone from a sling! Thank you for what you did, my grand children will also know and you will be remembered for a long time.
