Hi Lock the Gate friends!
Lock the Gate volunteers recently got together and planned some really creative and bold ideas for action we can take to help protect Queensland’s precious farmland and water, and we’re keen to make these upcoming actions as fun, eye-catching and visual as possible!
We all know how important attention-grabbing banners, signs and other props are to creating high-impact actions, so we’re having a Crafternoon next Wednesday 8th of May at 1pm in the Lock the Gate office (1/28 Donkin St, West End). Think giant fruit and veg, a theatrically-sized lock, fruit and flower covered straw hats, and some punchy banners and signs! We’ll have all the materials we’ll need, so you just need to bring yourself and your creativity!
What: Prop making workshop to protect our food bowls from gas
When: 1pm - 3.00pm (then we’ll head out for a billboard launch in Lutwyche)
Where: 1/28 Donkin Street, West End
If you enjoy some art and craft, come along and unleash your inner creative genius, and help make our upcoming actions unmissable! You don’t need any special craft skills and we’ll supply all the materials.
We’ll also be heading out for a group photo-op at one of our soon-to-be-launched billboards on Lutwyche Rd, straight after the crafternoon. If you’d like to join in but can’t make the crafternoon, we’ll be meeting at 546 Lutwyche Rd at 3:30pm on Wednesday 8th.
Hope to see you on the 8th!
In solidarity,
Zaida for Lock the Gate
