The Channel Country is a vast network of rivers and floodplains in Queensland's south west that is at threat from expanding fracking gas infrastructure.
In 2015 the Palasczuk government promised to protect the rivers of the Lake Eyre Basin from fracking. At the end of 2022, after a drawn out consultation process, it was time for the government to act. But the gas companies are pushing back hard. Now these protections are hanging by a thread and we’re in danger of losing them altogether.
Join us on Saturday 11th February to hear about the work we’ve done so far to protect this iconic environmental area, and what we can do together to force the gas industry out for good.
