NSW State Governments have continued to approve huge open cut coalmines on our farmland despite strong opposition from farmers and citizens. Victoria has banned fracking for coal seam gas but NSW is now offering new exploration licences to the CSG sector.
There is rising concern that we need to protect our farmland for farming so that we have access to fresh locally grown food.
What are the real economic benefits of coal mining and what will be coal's legacy for our land and our farming communities?
