Hume Coal has had six and a half years to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement about its proposed new coal mine.

It is now on public exhibition.

The Southern Highlands has until just 30 June to respond.

Come and hear the facts and discover what you can do to help save the Southern Highlands from Hume Coal.

Where:        Moss Vale Services Club
When:         6.30pm, Thursday 18 May
Hosts:         Coal Free Southern Highlands

A recent ABC headline read: 'Proposed Hume Coal mine would destroy 'world-class' aquifer, local residents say'. The Guardian's headline from 27 April said: 'Hume Coal mine would threaten water and net just $6m in royalties a year for NSW'.

Come along and find out the facts for yourself.
