The Palaszczuk government has promised protection for the Lake Eyre Basin at three elections. Three!
We’re now halfway to election number FOUR. It’s time.
As Traditional Owner and Mithaka elder George Gorringe has said, “All the storylines follow the rivers and the big creeks,” he says. “If [gas infrastructure] wrecks that, it puts a hole in all the storylines.”

These outback rivers are part of a cultural landscape with millennia of history. They are home to a huge and thriving organic cattle industry and they support incredible biodiversity.
Under them lies some of the dirtiest gas resources in Australia and yet Palaszczuk is paralysed by fear of the gas industry. We need to show her the Queensland community wants this done!
