The gas companies are coming back to the Northern Rivers. Metgasco have already announced plans to drill at Bentley (near Lismore) in early 2014. Dart Energy are sending their subsidiary Macquarie Energy back to the Northern Rivers to get things moving in PEL445, which covers a significant proportion of the Tweed Shire. The Federal government Minister for Industry, Ian McFarlane is "gung ho" to develop the industry.

The only thing that will stop them is a strong, united community willing to stand up and defend itself.
