Protect land, water and climate from a fracking export pipeline

The Northern Territory Government wants to get a massive new 700km long high pressure gas pipeline built to transport fracked gas from the Beetaloo basin to Darwin Harbour for overseas export as part of a so-called Territory Energy Link.

The most likely company to build the pipeline is APA.  However, the proposed pipeline flies in the face of commitments APA has made on climate change.

Tell gas pipeline company APA that they shouldn’t build a major high-pressure gas pipeline for export that will risk land and water, harm Territorians, and risk our climate.

Pipeline Impacts

Territorians have raised concerns about the impacts this will have on bush blocks and pastoral stations, impeding landholders and harming precious land and water.

The pipeline itself will cause an increase in direct emissions of methane - a gas that is 84 times more polluting than carbon dioxide in the short term - and open up full production in the Beetaloo Basin which is likely to blow Australia’s climate targets.

Territory communities are already bearing the brunt of climate change impacts like heatwaves,  severe bushfires and extreme storm events- we can't afford to open up the NT to enormous polluting fracking gasfields with this fracking pipeline.
