Often the main barrier people have to trying our volunteer activities such as stalls, flyering, making phone calls, is that they are not confident speaking to people about the issue. This is understandable as it can be daunting speaking even to people you know about something you're passionate about, and even more so when you need to talk to strangers about something complex like coal mine expansions and gas projects.
This training will give you some tips and techniques for having effective, persuasive conversations about issues that are important to you. We will also cover some key information about Lock the Gate, our campaigns, and coal seam gas.
We will practice having conversations as well, so you can leave feeling confident in talking about this issue.
Food will be provided, including gluten free and vegan options. Please advise if you have any other requirements.
We will be hosting this at the office space we share with GetUp, at 52 Reservoir St, Surry Hills. Buzz the button for GetUp (Level 1) when you arrive.
If you wish to attend but cannot make it in person, please get in touch as we may be able to have you join over Zoom. Email [email protected]
