We, the petitioners request that the Federal Government take immediate action to:
Get off the gas - Withdraw subsidies to fossil fuels, particularly gas and coal extraction, and transition these to renewable energy sources like wind and solar.
Transition today - Urgently create a National Renewable Energy Roadmap stepping through a rapid transition away from fossil fuels and towards renewable energy.
Set the standard - Commit to the National Energy Market sourcing 100% of its energy from renewables within the next decade.
Help, don’t hinder states and territories - Prioritise infrastructure spending for states and territories to assist them to source 100% of their energy from renewable sources within the coming decade.
Leaner demand, cleaner supply - Create a stimulus package to fund retrofit for renewables and energy efficiency in homes and small businesses across Australia using zero interest loans.
