    Australians all should be more aware of the creeping suppression of voices and groups associated with social protest or advocacy of points of view at variance from the policies of governments or their funding sources in industry or the corporates. There are too many examples:Lock the Gate counter measures, forbidding public servants to use social media in a way that critiques a political position, cracking down on union organisation ,targeting GetUp , neutralising the Human Rights Commission. Lock the Gate is an authentic nonpartisan pluralist community protest movement. It is worth fighting for; its members assert rights that are foundational to our democracy.
