Support Farmers Fighting for the Right to Say No to Gas

After a decade of coal seam gas production in the region, farmers on Queensland's Darling Downs are seeing huge impacts from coal seam gas. They are losing water, dealing with the stress of negotiations with multinational companies, and witnessing sections of their properties sink with subsidence as gas and water is extracted from beneath them.

We need real protection for our fertile farming regions and to give farmers a right to say no to gas on their land. Will you stand with Queensland farmers?

Will you send a message of support to the affected landholders letting them know you and hundreds of other Queenslanders support their call to protect prime farmland?

This is a chance to push for real reforms - if we stand together. Leave your message below and we will share them with the incredibly tough farmers who have been fighting this injustice for years.

I was shocked to read that there are 18000 gas wells already installed in QLD. So sorry the farmers are suffering at the hands of these immoral and irresponsible gas companies. That they still have so much power everywhere in Australia is reprehensible. How the are the children of the future going to cope with the desecration and the deadly effects of pollution caused by these wells.

Just stop it.. funny how the environmental solutions are slammed (windfarms and solar panels), yet these just seem ro go without any notice, with far higher consequemces.

Food and water tesource security comes before gas industry. Enough landholders have contributed to the energy industry. Why not look at supporting farmers instead? Enough of enough.

I’m from the Upper Hunter. I’ve seen so many farms dug up and turned into coal mines over the years. :(

Don’t continue to destroy the most productive farming land in Australia. You will be on the wrong side of history if this polluting practice is allowed to continue

Australia & the Australian Government abhor what Russia & Putin are doing to Ukraine & the disruption it is causing to what is regarded as one of the most productive & vital food growing areas in the world putting its vital food resources at risk yet here in Australia the Darling Downs & Liverpool Plains rated a close second they are actually condoning & facilitating not only the disruption but also the destruction of these precious & vital food bowls putting Food Security @ Risk !!!!!!

Wish we could be there in support, but unfortunately we are away on Norfolk Island. Please give those in attendance our full support in keeping CSG off their properties. They will never ‘legally’ enter our property.

Thanks for fighting this destructive practice to protect our food production it’s short sighted and horrific what government is allowing to happen to our precious land and water which is a delicate balance that can’t be repaired.0
