Please write a very short message, in your own words, to the Independent Planning Commission and the NSW Government for rejecting the risky Bylong coal mine. Congratulate them for listening to the experts and protecting this incredible area for its rich soils, precious groundwater and unique heritage values. This means the historic Tarwyn Park property, the home of Natural Sequence Farming, will not be mined.
Thanks for saving Bylong!

John Frois commented 2019-09-18 16:15:44 +1000thanks for t he good news. It is quite a change from so many of bad government decisions. Governments ought to know what’s best for the country’s future. Good people on the ground should not have to constantly spend their energy and money to teach governments right from wrong…

James Scanlon commented 2019-09-18 16:15:10 +1000Great news about Bylong! Good on Lock the Gate, all residents and other campaigners and the IPC. No thanks to the NSW Govt. Now get the feral horses out of the Snowy, and rein in John Barilaro with his nonsensical campaign for more dams (having a dam in place does not cause rain to fall upstream). And drop the ‘raise Warragamba’ proposal, which will destroy natural and human heritage items.

Terrence Barnes commented 2019-09-18 16:14:39 +1000I can’t believe it. With the rampant corruption faced by ordinary folk, especially the corporate take-over of regional Australia, you have restored some faith in me. REGRETTABLY OF COURSE, THEY WILL BE BACK !!!

Steve Wigney commented 2019-09-18 16:14:34 +1000Thank you, and thank heavens that we are starting to collectively take responsibility for our mess (in this case by not making a bigger one). Thanks from the heart.

Colin Tann commented 2019-09-18 16:14:31 +1000This decision is reassuring that common sense is now taking place and we can look into the future rather than short term exploitation.
I hope the Pilliga forest has a similar outcome when facing CSG exploitation within a very sensitive area for our water. -

Colin Hargreaves commented 2019-09-18 16:10:52 +1000Thank you so much for helping to save our children’s world, officially recognising the intergenerational equity issues. It’s amazing to see how minds have changed since when I ran a Save our Children’s World campaign during Children’s Week in 2014. At that time both schools and churches refused to touch the issue; adults wanted nothing to do with it. Now we have a strong School Students for Climate movement. It’s great to see how children have started to stand up for their own interests in this Climate Change policy debate. If only they could vote. Again, thank you so much; I cannot say it enough.
