Thanks for saving Bylong!

Please write a very short message, in your own words, to the Independent Planning Commission and the NSW Government for rejecting the risky Bylong coal mine.  Congratulate them for listening to the experts and protecting this incredible area for its rich soils, precious groundwater and unique heritage values. This means the historic Tarwyn Park property, the home of Natural Sequence Farming, will not be mined.

On behalf of our country, and in particular, at this point, the Bylong Valley, I congratulate the Independent Planning Commission and the NSW Government for making the right decision to protect this area for the future. The land is far more valuable to Australia/NSW for farming and agriculture and maintaining precious groundwater than polluting it with coal mines. I understand that coal is important but not to the detriment of valuable natural resources which would be impacted far, far into the future. We can no longer ride on the sheeps back, can barely support the milking industry because of past and ongoing bad decisions, so it is pleasing to see that common sense has prevailed.

    Thank you

Wonderful to see common sense prevail. There are many alternative power sources coming into focus now if only the power companies would allow this to occur – we don’t need large power stations.

With more sensible nations in the world divesting from coal in the face of the obvious escalation of climate change this is a welcome decision. The Bylong Valley is a beautiful gem in the Northern Blue Mountains and to dig it up, and damage the water table, was always a bad idea. I am glad more rational thinking prevailed.

Thank you SO much for protecting agricultural land, habitat, and the wellbeing of future generations with your decision to disallow coal mining and development in the Bylong region. I am hopeful that this sets a precedent for intelligent land use in the rest of Australia, also.

    Dear sirs,

You made the decision to save Bylong Valley from mining. Whilst the need for energy is great, your need for food is greater.

To the Independent Planning Committee and The NSW Government , as an Australian who cares deeply about our country and protecting the environment I salute your decision to reject the Bylong Coal Mine which would have caused incredible damage and ruined unique heritage values. This has been a very sensible and wise decision.
