Simply put: mining corporations Whitehaven and Idemitsu have been permitted to turn an ecologically important slice of state forest and surrounds, into three vast open cut mines. Draining the water table, destroying farmland and forest. Both the local farmers and the forest blockaders have been campaigning to halt the expanding mines.
"The Leard Forest Listen Up" Gig is: unnerving and awesome performances taking place in a stunning forest, at the powerful site of a direct action blockade.
Without action this forest will be further destroyed. Coal chaos effects our everyday, whether it's our health, our homes or the opportunities available to us within an economy prostrate to the mining dollar. This gig will celebrate the land and is an opportunity to get more people to come out, enjoy and support the camp.
Organising your own transport is best. There will be car-pooling & 2 vans leaving from Sydney on the Friday 8th March.
