Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Thank you for putting your countrymen and the environment first. You could easily have been forgiven to ‘cave in’ and take a generous sale price, then retire on the Gold Coast, or wherever. However, now there is a greater chance that children of grandchildren will still be able to have drinkable water, and arable land in a century time, long after you and I have left this mortal coil. There seems so little for the average person to do, to save the Planet, however you did heaps! Congratulations on your much deserved award.

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Well done Wendy. The lame excuse used by The NSW Minerals Council that mining and agriculture have always coexisted in the Hunter Valley doesn’t cut it any more. Both Labour and Liberal Governments have allowed mining to take over with agriculture running a poor second. Congratulations on your achievement.

A: Congratulations Wendy and well done in your / our fight for the environment. I feel the tide is turning from the point of view of the general population. We need our so called leaders and politicians to keep up with us or they will be voted out and left behind.

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Congratulations, Wendy. You deserve the award and you should be very proud of your efforts to understand the complicated legalspeak and tactics of the big mining interests in your battle to achieve justice for yourself and other landowners and farmers who depend on unpolluted water for crops and animals. At times it must have been very stressful to stand up for your rights. I don’t think the battle is over yet, but you have brought that battle to the attention of a lot of people who are appalled at the situation and have joined you in your fight. Terrific recognition!

A: Wendy, I’m thrilled that you’ve received this award but saddened to think of what you’ve had to endure to get it. I feel privileged to have known you as we all worked to fight the mines during the heyday of Rivers SOS. It still seems that the battle is nowhere near over. I congratulate you and wish you all the very best – I could not think of a worthier winner of this award.

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Well done! I understand nothing like this is achieved without significant pressure and personal sacrifice. Whenever small beats big it gives us all hope against greedy tyrants that seek to destroy this Earth all for their own personal gain. I expect I will have fights ahead of me as I plan to move to a 200 acre property in Qld. I will remind myself of this story if I am pressured in any way by exploiters and find the strength to fight back! Go Wendy!
