Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Yes! Wendy, water is life…….Why is it that our governments are so all ears to the multi corporations when it comes to the so called economic benefits of digging up, fracking and spraying our lands with poisons and so deaf to the importance of looking after our environment, which after all is what will sustain us as human beings into the future?
Thank you for taking a stand and for being such a positive role model by showing people that they too can say NO when it comes to the degradation of our priceless beautiful land. Blessings to you!

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Very well done Wendy. You deserve to be recognised for all you have done. I only hope we can stop the Adani mine as well. I wish you a more peaceful time at your home now that the mine idea from Yancoal has been stopped. It is through people like you that such changes can occur. The current govt is limiting what people can do to protest such things and there is the threat of massive fines as well. This needs to change so that people can express their right to disagree with corporate interests that are harmful to us all. Once again I wish you all the best for the future.

A: Hi Wendy, I am inspired by your commitment to our precious environment. As a disabled woman, my efforts to alert others of the fragility of our environment, is limited to online petitioning and Facebook posts. My heart soared upon reading of your stoic victory. Congratulations and heartfelt thanks for your contribution towards a healthier planet. May you continue to build on this, inspiring others to do likewise. God Bless you.

A: Dear Wendy, I thank you from the bottom of my heart on behalf of my great great great grandchildren too. Especially for your determination, experience and common sense. We need farmer and food growers and we all need water! And of course we need you and all the people fighting mining companies to stay out of our iconic areas. You are an example and a mentor. Thank you.

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
    A: Dear Wendy,
My most hearty congratulations to you for your successful fight against another unnecessary coal mine. I write from France where my partner and I are touring. We live in Lismore in Northern NSW. Here in France, it is land clearing for horses and sheep and the heavy use of pesticides is wreaking a heavy impact on the birds, amphibians, insects and French wildflowers. They are all disappearing rapidly.
Australia’s EDO is a superb institution which in fact represents democracy. Unfortunately Australia currently has a government that has no interest in the natural heritage of Australia because it is blind to the fact that natural heritage is also natural wealth. This same government has no conscience whatsoever, so it has demonstrated, regarding the urgent need to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions to reduce the effects of Anthropogenic Global Warming. These effects of extreme weather patterns and events are costing our economy and our communities dearly.
I salute your courage, your wisdom, and your organisational skills in winning your right to live on your own land and maintain its health and in doing so, the health of other properties in your region.
    Thank you. Christine James

A: Dear Wendy, congratulations and thankyou. Thankyou for standing for water, for without clean water we would all perish. Every living thing on this planet depends on water for its survival and every living thing has a relationship to all that is living. By standing up for water you are not only protecting The Hunter Region, you are effectively standing up for life. Adele Scott

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Dear Wendy Goldman, Thank you for your hard won fight, my future generations & Australia’s future generations will thank you, it is a sad reflection on the government be it State or Federal that they care not, for the future of this arid fragile, but truly beautiful Continent. You & like minded people will go down in history, as taking on the Goliath Corporations & winning this battle. Congratulations you never gave up. There will be many more battles to fight against Corporations, be it coal or Coal seem Gas, as well the very Government we elect in to represent us. The truly sad thing is they have take no responsibility, for what is left in their wake a truly destructive force, harsher to our continent then the destruction of mother nature. How does the saying go for evil to flourish it takes good men & women to do nothing. Thank you again Cheryl Kneipp

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Well done Wendy. An inspiring person deserving of this prize. The battle goes on in many places around the world, where the environment is seen simply as a ‘resource’ for making money. Lock the Gate has also helped to raise awareness about not only the damage of coal mining but of fracking coal seam gas and, as you point out in your speech, the impact on groundwater. Let’s hope people power and education will win out.
    Regards
    Erst

    A: Dear Wendy,
Congratulations on your courageous determination in the fight to save your property and others like it. You are so well deserving of the Goldman Environmental Prize !! Doug and I know and understand the stresses and emotional strain you would have been through to achieve your victory – we fought against Premier Peter Beattie and then Premier Anna Bligh when they were determined to buy up properties in the Mary Valley, Qld. for the proposed Traveston Dam 2006 to 2009. We were determined not to sell out to the Government and have rich fertile soils in this food bowl flooded with a dam that was environmentally unsound.
We love your spirit, your courage and tenacity.
    God Bless,
    Doug & Jen
