Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Thank you so much Wendy and your colleagues who have been tirelessly protecting the environment on all of the Australian’s behalf. Your victory is inspirational for us all, and your humble speech deeply touched me. As you mentioned we must continue to work to change the attitudes of big corporations and governments greed over environment and farmers who produces all the food for us. Yes, water is life. We should never take this for granted! Thank you.

A: Well done Wendy ……… you are an inspiration and I wish more of us had the intestinal fortitude to fight for our rights. Sadly, many Australians are apathetic at best, with the “she’ll be right” attitude rampant. Keep up the good work and stick to your guns.

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
A: Congratulations Wendy for this award & for having the foresight (along with others) to realise that a quarry only is for the short term, farming is for generations & one cannot eat coal. Fracking is as bad for its potential to poison aquifers for as you say “Water is life”. I wish the decision-makers were as perspicacious as you & the almighty dollar didn’t cloud their judgement but there will always be greed.

It’s easy to take the money and run and I’m sure the mining company made you a tempting offer. I applaud you for putting your country and your principles first. Keep up the good work and may others follow you.

A: Well said Wendy water is our life line for without water we die the land dies and the human race will become extinct. Mines and the people who run them have no respect for other people, the land and what they are about to do to the human race. Hold steady and make sure the people of the region are behind you and have the same vision as you to carry one your work as the mining people do not live in the region and probably not in this country. I wonder how they would feel if we went to their country and dug up their backyard and destroyed their drinking water? Hold fast as you are the peoples warrior.

A: Farmers are the backbone of our country, usually they are conservative by nature and disinclined to be radical. Thank you for caring enough to fight an environmental cause so strongly. We get one life and only one planet. Once its degraded it will be to late for thousands of years

Q: Would you like to send a message to Wendy?
    A: Dear Wendy,
I congratulate you on your very special award. I acknowledge and admire your strength, determination and steadfast belief in protecting such an important and ongoing critical need to safeguard land/water from the threat of these ill thought out mining practices. You have sent a powerful message to all; with these wonderful groups supporting actions like yours, it does also highlight again how powerful one voice can be. I believe there has never been a more critical time than now to stand-up for what is powerfully right; the health and protection of the land, water, animals and agricultural land in the context of global warming and climate change. It seems ludicrous to me that there has to be this fight to protect these things. The inaction, seemingly weak, inept and indifference to such vital issues by this Australian Government leaves me cold. Thank heavens for people like you and the groups you addressed in your thank you speech. I for one will do everything I can to help the cause in protecting such vital assets in a world where they should be viewed as sacred, valued and respected, especially as well for Australia’s food security and even national security, indeed globally. The indigenous people have a beautiful way of looking after their environment in a spiritual way which I believe if every individual on this planet thought about the bigger picture, especially at this time in history, it would factor in the environment right at the top of the list in the context of, without protecting it, the consequences are dire. I’m trying to live a ‘light footprint on the planet’, living in a strawbale/rammed earth house on 5 acres and trying to revive the use of the scythe (to help reduce greenhouse emissions!). There is no way in the world I would let anyone get a hold on my land and do the wrong thing! I, like you would make a strong stand against it with all my heart. All the very best, enjoying your home you’ve fought for and the beautiful area in which you live. What a tremendous outcome. Well done!

    Yours sincerely,

    Dianne Hore

A: Hi Wendy, congratulations on your win and your win.
I have feelings of pride when I hear your story and your steadfastness in refusing to cave in to the mining giants.
The power of no is potent and wouldn’t it be great if we elected independent politicians just for their ability to say no and stick to that no.
I’d vote for someone who promised that.
Congratulations again, you are someone we can all aspire to be.

She was marvelous to come and added great presence to our day! Congratulations, Wendy. Carolyn Bishop, Mullaley Gas and Pipeline Accord
