Lock The Vaults

Is your bank funding the destruction of our land and water?

Since 2008, the big four Australian banks - Commonwealth, National Australia Bank, Westpac and ANZ - have loaned more than $70 billion (1)   to fossil fuel projects, including numerous Australian coal and gas projects.

We don’t think it’s right for the big four banks to knowingly damage our land and water with their lending practices.

We think they should be sticking up for Australian communities, not undermining them.

That’s why we’re launching #lockthevaults to coal and gas mining.  It’s going to be an exciting campaign over the next six weeks, and there’s heaps of ways you can get involved:

  1. Taking a selfie at one of the banks for social media
  2. Emailing the banks

  3. Dropping in and talking to local bank staff

  4. Handing out leaflets outside branches

  5. Joining in the national week of action from May 5th to 12th
