Last month it was revealed that a coal waste stockpile at Centennial Coal's Clarence Colliery collapsed, causing coal muck to pollution the Wollangambe River for many kilometres. The mess has still not been cleaned up. No charges have yet been laid. And the company that owns the mine is seeking approval from the NSW Government to expand its nearby Springvale mine. Should coal companies be able to get away with sending black sludge down river towards the pristine Blue Mountains World Heritage Area? No way! Come and tell the NSW Government that World Heritage rivers need protection from coal mining pollution.
