OGL Resources have a proposal to re-open the Ebenezer mine and expand it across the vast 'Bremer View' lease, south of Rosewood in south-east Queensland.
The mining leases involved (MDL172 and ML4712) cover more than 23,000 acres of land, and if it proceeds, the mining project may affect up to 400 properties in the area, either directly or indirectly.
This community meeting has been organised by local landholders and the Lock the Gate Alliance. This is an opportunity for people to live within the mining lease to learn more about the proposal, and to join together with their neighbours to protect their community and their livelihood.
Speakers include a Brisbane doctor to talk about the health risks posed by coal dust and a local landholder to talk about the threats to farm enterprises. More information visit www.coalfreebremervalley.org
