Centennial Coal’s Newstan coal mine is a bord and pillar underground mining operation that undermines large areas of western Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle.
The extension project risks causing subsidence under Eraring Power Station and its huge coal ash dam which is already leaching heavy metals into the Lake.
