Protect Our Food and Water
Many regions of the country are now facing one of the worst droughts on record.
Due to climate change we face more variable rainfall and more frequent, severe fires. Our agricultural productivity is under increasing pressure.
But coal and gas mines are still targeting many of our best food growing areas and precious water supplies.
Call on our state and federal politicians to protect our vital food growing land and water supplies.
(This petition will be delivered to MP’s around the country in the lead up to the next election. See full text below.)

Dear Member of Parliament,
Many regions of the country are now facing one of the worst droughts on record.
Due to climate change we face more variable rainfall and more frequent, severe fires. Our agricultural productivity is under increasing pressure.
But coal and gas mines are still targeting many of our best food growing areas and precious water supplies.
I need you to step up now and put in place strict measures to protect rivers and streams, farm water supplies and drinking water catchments.
We have to stop draining water, polluting streams and destroying farmland with massive open-cut coal pits and industrial gasfields.
We need no-go zones for mining and gas in our most iconic water sources like the Great Artesian Basin, recharge areas of the Mataranka Hot Springs, and our national foodbowls on the Liverpool Plains, the Darling Downs and the Limestone Coast.
There’s no time to lose. It’s time to choose renewables over coal and gas, now.
