It doesn’t make sense. NSW is in drought, dam levels are low and we are paying for desalinated water. Meanwhile millions of litres of water are lost from our drinking water catchment each day due to damage caused by coal mining.
Join Protect Our Water Alliance (supported by Lock the Gate) for a forum in Wollongong to find out what coal mining is doing to our drinking water catchment.
The catchment and dams on the plains above the Illawarra escarpment supply 24% of the water for Greater Sydney and all of the water for the Illawarra.
A quarter of this area is already undermined but the NSW government keeps approving more coal mining projects.
Be part of the forum to learn more and find out how we can protect our water catchment.
