The NSW government is soon to decide whether to recommend the approval of two disastrous coal mine expansions proposed in NSW (with another 17 still proposed).
The HVO expansion in the Hunter Valley is the biggest coal project ever proposed in NSW – it will blow NSW climate targets out of the water.
And the Moolarben coal expansion near Mudgee is a koala killer – it will clear habitat that is critical for the Koala, in a climate-resilient population that has survived droughts and bushfires.
The Minister for Planning, Paul Scully now has a choice between koalas & climate, and the profits of two big coal companies.
We’re calling for Minister Scully to Say NO to mega coal expansions like HVO and Moolarben and to make sure communities have the right to challenge big coal projects, just like the NSW ICAC has recommended we should.
Come to Scully’s office to tell him to protect our rights, our climate, our koalas.
