Thanks for saving Bylong!

Please write a very short message, in your own words, to the Independent Planning Commission and the NSW Government for rejecting the risky Bylong coal mine.  Congratulate them for listening to the experts and protecting this incredible area for its rich soils, precious groundwater and unique heritage values. This means the historic Tarwyn Park property, the home of Natural Sequence Farming, will not be mined.

Finally some sanity. Some hope. It is fitting that Peter Andrew’s former property has been spared. We must not mine ourselves into extinction. Thank you for stopping the desecration of our most precious resource. A wonderful legacy for our children and grandchildren. Bravo!

Thank you for this historic decision. It is such a relief to see the Commission reaching a conclusion that reflects rationality, integrity and a true responsibility to future generations. I thank you for my grandchildren and all those yet to come in the hope that we will leave them a liveable planet and that your decision will show the way for further leadership on climate action.

The most beautiful farm and grazing land has been saved by your corageous decision to respect the evidence from those who understand what the loss of the Bylong would mean to future Australian generations. We’ll never forget our first visit to this wonderous part of the world, contemplating the awesome beauty, but only to be shocked by the overwhelming aural disruption of coal trains from existing mines up the track. Thank you for acting in the public good over profit for international entrepreneurs seeking quick profits with little concern for heritage and climate damage caused to Australia.

Thank you for displaying good judgement in the Bylong decision to stop coal I wept with emotion at the news.

We have a government which is pro coal used for old technology. This is ruinous for our water and land.
