Where would you rather see our taxpayer money invested?

The Government wants to frack, but what does Australia want?

We’ve put together a letter you can sign below and add your ideas for the Federal Government on what they could do with our hard-earned tax dollars.

Please add your name and give us your ideas for where you’d rather see your tax dollars spent.

To Federal Parliamentarians, Ministers, Departments,

We are alarmed and disappointed to see the Federal Government now rolling out a suite of actions to prop up expensive and dangerous gas fracking across Australia without any proper public accountability.

As voters and concerned Australians, we ask that you hear our message - do not spend our money on gas fracking projects and big new gas pipelines.

Farmlands, water resources and the climate can’t afford to keep propping up polluting gas.

It’s time for Australia to grow stronger and tool up to embrace cleaner energy and storage.

There are a multitude of ways the Government could take a smarter approach to the Covid recovery. The Australian community has many ideas on how we can boost agriculture, tourism, First Nations opportunities, community health and disaster relief.

We know we can create jobs by genuinely supporting diverse Australian businesses, not throwing our money at the gas fracking industry.

We see huge opportunities to help Australia to get off polluting and expensive gas into the future, to modernise our power and heating and to save on gas and energy bills.

I ask that you oppose the measures being rolled out to fast-track gas fracking, including the ill-considered and secretive National Gas Infrastructure Plan, and take on board our ideas for how the money could be better spent.

Yours sincerely,

Please add some comments.

I would rather like to see money spent on programs that support First Nations organisations and businesses working on country , and also renewable energy projects and battery storage

We know who and what the problem is. We know what to do. We know how to do it. The problem will not be resolved by investing, in any way, in the fossil fuel industry. This is just a nasty, no-brainer money grab for the Liberal/National Government and their buddies. INVEST IN RENEWABLES. We need our planet to be inhabitable. We need our water to be clean. Set Australia on the right footing for the future. Start thinking outside the box, it’s about time.

Fracing the country side is not good or healthy for the environment. There are better form of power. Build HELE coalfired power stations.

Instead of exploiting a limited resource such as gas with not only contamination issues but geographical, spend money on continuous energy supply resources such as wave power, We in WA are blessed with abundant wave power.

Lots of alternatives to encouraging more CO2 to be released-

Foreign aid has been neglected, aged care needs revision, education and associated assistance especially for the young, environmental repair…

    Many more.

How about throwing that money at a solution rather than the problem?

With the major natural disasters we have experienced over the past few years, especially the fires. Our natural vegetation has taken a huge blow on top of what has been happening with land clearing. I feel we should be doing far more plant regeneration projects setting up vegetation corridors throughout our farming regions which would assist with supporting our native fauna.

It’s time for Australia to be clever with investment – to grow stronger and tool up to embrace cleaner energy and storage. Kelp farms along the east coast, investing with Tesla for battery storage, mining for rare minerals needed for NEW technologies.

Our government must act responsibly, and not support fossil fuels. Australia can lead, but by following the fossil fuel path, we will be followers of 21C energy production.

The Gov needs to find alternate ways of powering cars as elec batteries are impractical for everything. hydrogen seems possible but there may be other possibilities

Save and spend our money on transitioning workers from the fossil fuels industry to jobs for a sustainable future, and regenerative farming and regenerating old minesites to useful land. Protecting our rivers from water theft by water hungry unsuitable farming. Put our money into well funded public education, well financed ABC, and helping young families who need mentoring
