I cannot understand the government’s obsession with gas and other fossil fuels as though gas was an improvement to coal .Solar and wind are so available in this country!

This is an ancient land and its wealth is for all to live with not for a few to destroy for a financial gain!

Focusing on creating social enterprise to address the issues being felt by local communities – doing any of this requires clean air, food and water – mines and fracking totally destroys this!

Substation 33 is a fantastic example – helping people with intellectual disabilities, reusing e waste, creating flood warning systems, replacing kerosene for light and cooking overseas with batteries for light and recharging phones from e waste – earning money for other projects through YFS, developing community and allowing them to contribute to their own health, wealth and state of being is much better than reduced to numbers draining funds from working people, piles of rubbish poisoning our environment in a denuded dead landscape.

Should have people on the committee who have shown they are committed to developing community and shown innovation to improving our environment – money being paid to politicians has no part in that process!

As being shown in the media recently, corruption is running the show – we need to focus outputs tied to improving the social standing, mental and physical health of remote and regional communities through their contribution to addressing the issues affecting them – Queensland Community Alliance has been using the Relational Conversation Training to do table talks to find issues that affect the community and they work together to address the issue – quite often it is simple bits of information that different segments have, that when collated together makes it easy to see the way forward – such a powerful applicable model. Bring those already part of the committee and people being affected together and allow them to share their stories – amazing to see men and women of all colours, ages, ethnicity and spiritual beliefs all talking intently and starting to respect each other simply by sharing their stories – then start to work on a common issue to find a solution – awesome!

As with anything, the most valuable part is the person co-coordinating the project – It needs to be someone who community says is able to do that – there are some amazing mainstream stories in eg education, where indigenous people are having amazing outcomes too. Need to look far and wide to find someone who can weave a way of focusing on the issues and those affected by them – the farmers, the miners, Traditional Owners – maybe changing the way things are being done traditionally could be change – how can modern studies make the mining safer for the environment, minimize the toxic affects for those farming around, or other industries that could arise around that, sustainable living so locals aren’t forced out of the housing markets, loss of tradespeople – how to use grey nomads, backpackers, and many other possible resources to support local community and create ways for them to contribute to create sustainable models – you have the mental health issues of Fly In Fly Out workers, aging farmers who can’t get workers and loosing their heritage and commit suicide, people having to leave their communities because they can’t afford house prices or rentals, no water because of drought in dams and not being able to use traditional bores etc as now toxic – so many issues tearing the fabric of Australia apart simply because money and power are totally ignoring these issues – but in 10 years now one will be around to grow food, no clean water and only populations will be in the city and many of those homeless like in America.

Too late then.

You can have a mix of multinationals, miners, farmers, First Nations organisations, businesses and community working together positively with the right combination of people good at supporting this concept – not Multinationals, high flying CEO’s, people with lots of PhD’s with connections etc but people who have functioning communities to show they have the innate resonance that attracts others to participate fully!

We need renewable & solar energy projects with battery storage.This is so important & paramount!!

I wish the government would cease funding fossil fuels. The money would be much better spent on more work with CLEAN ENERGY. Better for Australia and all Australians and the planet.

Id rather see money spent on renewable projects such as solar and wind…creating local jobs n protecting our environment for the future

Time is now to protect our fragile environment

Hydraulic fracturing is destructive to the environment. It uses chemicals which can damage water aquifers. It uses a great deal of water which our dry continent cannot spare and it pollutes the air. It is entirely unnecesssary because full commitment to renewable energy will be sufficient.

Stop this CSG polluting industry. All coal seam gas wells leak. Some leak beneath the surface between aquifers some leak to the atmosphere.
