Thank you for putting the environment before profit and for standing up to lobby groups and corporate interests who seek to plunder our natural world for money. Long may you govern with the environment in mind.

Thank you Premier Steven Miles for protecting Queensland’s channel country and the Lake Eyre basin from fracking and other destructive and exploitative pursuits by multinationals for profit at the expense of nature.

Thank you Premier Miles for this first and significant step to protect the magnificent but fragile balance in the Channel Country and the Lake Eyre Catchment.

My despair at Australia’s carelessness, not protecting our natural world and environmental systems or hearing and respecting indigenous knowledge is momentarily relieved.

Keep up your firm leadership. We have reached a tipping point and every moment counts.

I am so happy I opened this email as I usually delete because of frustration as to why Government is failing at caring for our country.

Thankyou Premier for helping to restore my faith, we need to fertilise, not add to the desert.

Thank you so much for taking this step to protect the rivers and floodplains of the Lake Eyre Basin. Thank you for listening to the wishes of the Traditional Owners and the farmers of Southwest Queensland and protecting these important waterways.

I congratulate you on taking this stance.

    Keep up the good work.

    Dear Premier Miles

I am writing to express my congratulations to your government for protecting the Channel County from oil and gas mining.

We must rapidly decrease our use of fossil fuels to have any chance of keeping global warming below 1.5C and there is no r justification for opening new areas to mining.

Unconventional gas extraction also puts our precious water resources in jeopardy which are essential for our grazing industry and people living in the area.

I also ask that you seriously consider preventing any further new fossil fuel mining projects, particularly those that would release more than the average amount of methane or carbon dioxide during the mining process.

    Kind regards

    Don Skerman

Thank you Premier Miles for acting decisively to protect the Channel Country from oil and gas. This is wonderful news.

Water is the essence of life and we cannot afford to be risking the limited fresh water supply in the driest continent on the Earth. We need energy but we need clean water even more. Your leadership will protect both biodiversity and culturally significant land, as well as helping lead Queensland to a fossil fuel free future.

Thanks you soooo much Premier Miles for showing the leadership in protecting the channel country from fracking. Water is the essence of life and we cannot afford to be risking the limited fresh water supply in the driest continent on the Earth. Yes we need energy but we need clean water even more than energy. Without water there is no life.

    Well done you!
